The end result is a kit that will install quickly and work. Once installed there is nothing to turn on or off, everything is automatic and your batteries will be charged up and topped off ready for a full fun packed day of boating and fishing. These kits are designed to work with a nominal 12 V battery system with either flooded or AGM type batteries.
Fiberglass Teetop Solar Charging Kit is available in two versions:
Hard Bimini Kit: Kit includes the 145W solar panel (with easy connect water resistant terminal box), four "Z" mounting brackets with hardware, 30' of 12-2 Marine grade wire, 6' of 10-2 Marine grade wire, 10 amp Charge Controller (regulates charging of the battery), fuse holder with fuse, crimps, through deck wire clamp and installation instructions. Estimated daily energy production is 48 A-Hrs.
Hard Bimini Kit with Solar Boost: this kit includes all the items in the Hard Bimini Kit except the charge controller is replaced with a 25 amp MPPT solar boost charge controller (which allows charging of to battery banks while boost in up to 20% of the energy from the solar panel), and additional wire, fuse, fuse holder and crimps to make the connection to the second battery. Estimated daily energy production is 57 A-Hrs.
The controller regulates the power to assure that the batteries are never overcharged yet it works in complete harmony with your engine alternator or shore battery charging system. Onced hooked up, there is nothing to disconnect or turn off as the solar charge controller blocks the solar panel at nighttime eliminating any discharge.
