A completely unique mini windcharger designed with the weekend sailor in mind. The Rutland 504 is ideal for trickle charging batteries on board vessels less that 10m in length with battery banks of up to 100Ah. This latest model follows the success of its predecessor the Rutland 500 with a number of enhancements including performance and styling.

Technical Specifications

"Safety turbine" - the 6 blades are formed by a single glass re-enforced nylon molding that connects the blade tips. For yachtsmen this feature, alone with the compact turning radius of just 10 inches (255 mm) facilitates installation on board where deck space can be at a premium.

Purpose designed low friction generator starts charging at just 5.8 Knots (3 m/s or 6.7 mph) wind speed.

Latest 3 phase Rutland generator design gives smooth, quiet, continuous power.

Balance of System Components:

HRS Controller - attractively housed controller includs LED voltage level indicator assures battery is never overcharged.
Marine Mounting Kit supplied in 2 sections of stainless steel tube plus deck fixing and fasteners.

Other System Components:

Batteries - We recommend deep cycle lead acid batteries, sealed or non-sealed of a minimum capacity of 50AH @ 12V
Cable - Cable thickness depends on the overall length used between the wind generator, regulator and battery. For distances up to 20m a cable thickness of 2.5mm is recommended. The regulator should always be sited within 1.5m of the battery to minimize voltage losses and ensure accuracy of battery regulation.
Mounting pole for land based systems - the 503 can be installed on land using Marlec's 1m section of tube. This can be adapted to fit onto a 6m length of 61mm diameter tube available through a local tube stockholder.
Mounting pole for on-board systems - you can make your own mounting pole using a 31.7mm (1.25") internal diameter tube, the maximum external diameter should be 38mm (1.5").
