| Keep Multiple Batteries Charged and Isolated PathMaker is a battery combiner that automatically connects 2 or 3 battery banks for simultaneous charging and isolates them during discharge. A toggle switch allows you to manually parallel your battery banks for maximum starting power. For use with 12 or 24-volt systems, PathMaker can be custom programmed and is easy to install. Available in 2 or 3 bank versions with models at 100 and 200 Amps. | ![]() |
| Functional Description
PathMaker is a state of the art microprocessor-controlled battery combiner. It eliminates the pitfalls of a diode isolator (voltage drop) and a manual switch to combine battery banks. You have the capability of selecting voltages that will engage or disengage the combiner. 1.   Attach appropriately sized cables from each battery bank positive post directly to the solenoid posts. These posts are labeled on the side of the solenoid as VB1, VB2 and VB3 (VB3 is only for three bank units). VB1 should be the bank that gets the most use - usually your House bank. 2.   When a charge source (shore power charger, solar, or alternator) has charged battery bank VB1 up to the level selected via your connect voltage potentiometer, PathMaker will combine all banks and allow them to be charged together. When your charger turns off and the combined voltage drops below the low voltage disconnect setting, PathMaker will disengage the banks from each other. All this is done automatically. 3.   A toggle switch on the unit's control module allows you to select what mode PathMaker is in. The switch positions available are: "Disabled" (signified by the symbol "O"), "Auto" and "On" (signified by the symbol "|"). While the unit is in disabled mode, PathMaker will never engage the solenoids. In most cases, you will want the unit in Auto mode. Auto mode will allow the processor to react to the charging source. The On mode is a temporary position. This side of the switch is spring loaded. As long as you hold the switch in this position, the solenoids will be engaged. Only do this if you need emergency starting power. As soon as you release the switch from the On position, PathMaker will revert to Auto mode. 4.   On the right side of the control module is a phone jack. This is where an optional remote control can be plugged. |
