WHICH TYPE SHOULD I CHOOSE?

Choose the Matrix, type for overhead domes lights where you need lots of light. The wire is there to "de-couple" the socket from the LEDs so that you can orient the LEDs independent of the socket orientation.

Choose the Tower type for small lamps such as courtesy lamps, tube lamps, etc.
